SEND
Meet our SENDCO - Miss Michelle Ginn
A SENCo, or Special Educational Needs Co-ordinator, is the school teacher who is responsible for assessing, planning and monitoring the progress of children with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND). Special educational needs coordinators work to raise educational achievement by leading and coordinating provision for all pupils with special educational needs.
Twyning School SEND Local Offer
The SEN Code of Practice, September 2014 asks schools to create and publish a 'Local Offer'.The purpose of the Local Offer is to 'offer' information for parents, in a single place; helping them to understand what services they and their family can expect from a range of local agencies - including their statutory entitlements; and make clear what is available for their child from school.
The SEND section of our school website contains important information which can be used to support families of children with Special Educational Needs and/or a disability (SEND).
We have also put together a leaflet which summarises our Local Offer and are continually working to update the information in this section so please look out for updates. If you need any help, please contact the School Office or our SEND Coordinator (SENCO), Miss Ginn
Information of the Local Offer from Gloucestershire Local Authority can be found at: Local Offer
