Hedgehogs Class
Welcome to Hedgehogs!
We are a class of Year 4 and Year 5 children.
We have two class teachers. Miss Taylor teaches Monday - Thursday. While Miss Taylor is on Maternity Leave, Miss Thomas is our teacher. Her email address is [email protected]if there is anything you need.
Mrs Leggett teaches us on a Friday.
Miss Aston and Mrs Holtham are our Teaching Assistants.
How our week works:
Our PE days are Thursday and Friday.
Spelling tests are every Monday with new spellings being sent out on the same day as the test.
Your child can practise their spellings and find their lists on Spelling Frame.
Logins can be found in the front of their spelling books.
Times table tests are every Tuesday with new tables being set on Wednesday.
Your child can check their focus table and practise their tables using Times Tables Rockstars.
Homework will be sent out at the beginning of each term.
The expectation is for every child to have completed one piece of homework per week. It is a fantastic chance for the children to get creative and we love to see them record their homework in a way that suits them so they can bring in typed up pieces, pictures and videos to share with the class.
Homework is not meant to be a battle for anyone at home. If your child gets stuck, please let a member of the Hedgehog teaching staff know and we will happily help.
Reading Records
All Hedgehog children should continue to use their Reading Records to write in their weekly reads. We expect children to read at least 5 times a week.
5 weekly reads will mean your child is awarded a reading point. Children will receive a prize for 10, 20 and 30 points and will be presented with a certificate in Celebration Assembly.
Please help your child by signing their Reading Record each week and ensuring they bring them into school with them every Friday.
Regular reading across the week is essential to support your child's reading which underpins their learning in school and beyond. We thank you for your ongoing support with this and look forward to seeing lots of the children receiving their prizes and certificates in the near future.
