I am delighted to welcome you to Twyning School’s website.
As a vibrant, dynamic and caring school community we aspire to ACHIEVE, CREATE and ENJOY in all that we do.
We value personal success; the development of self-confidence, a sense of responsibility and respect for all.
Good work habits are encouraged. We are committed to providing a balanced and wide ranging educational provision allowing creativity and extra curricular activities.
Twyning School has been successfully educating local generations of children and preparing them for secondary school and adult life for over 100 years. The school has seen considerable developments over the past few years. These include the building of a new classroom for Early Years in 2007 and a wooden Outdoor Classroom in 2008. A new Library and reception area opened in December 2009. July 2010 saw a complete refit of the school kitchen; new ovens, food preparation area, chilled salad bar and serving facilities were installed. Twyning School serves around 350 children’s meals a week. The school hall was equipped with a ‘state of the art’ projector, screen and sound system in September 2010. Autumn 2012 saw the construction of two additional ‘link rooms’; providing much needed teaching space for small groups and planning and preparation areas for teaching staff. Children now have access to a class set of ipads to support learning. The Secret Garden has been extensively refurbished, to include a solar fountain, wildlife and seating area. Artificial grass areas have extended playspace all year round.
I hope that you find the information on our website helpful and informative. As it can only give you an outline of what our school has to offer, I encourage you to visit our school, speak to staff, meet our pupils and see the school in action. I would be delighted to answer any questions you might have and would welcome the opportunity to show you around. If you require paper copies of any of the policies or documents listed on the website these are available (without charge to parents) from the school office.
Mr R Vaughan, Headteacher.
