We are very proud of the Children who took part in the Summer Reading Challenge run by The Library.
The whole school took part in mixed group activities based on the story Nail Soup. Have a look at the display boards in the School corridor!
Some of the Children have been planting purple crocus bulbs on Twyning Green with Tewkesbury Rotary Club. Watch out for them next Spring!
We raised awareness for Sport Relief by coming to school wearing something red. In the afternoon, the junior children walked/jogged/ran around the green and the infant children did the same around the field. Come back soon to find out how far we traveled as a school!
The whole school took part in ACE week! Each class focused on a traditional story including Winnie the Pooh, Peter Pan, Wind in the Willows and the Chronicles of Narnia. Lots of activities promoting reading and writing took place. The children and staff dressed up as a character from their focus story to celebrate World Book Day. We had a great week!
On Thursday 3rd March 2016, I was delighted to take a group of very talented children to the FeetFirst dance festival at Cheltenham Town Hall. They worked so hard to create an energetic dance and performed it perfectly with big smiles on their faces. I am very proud of the dance club, all twelve took part, from years 2-4. Not only did they get the loudest cheer of the day, but they impressed all who came to see them and made the Gloucestershire Echo news! Well done, what a fantastic team you are! Mrs Underwood

We all enjoyed a lovely Christmas Dinner. Thank you to Mrs Critchley, Mrs Booth, the Staff and Governors.
Thank you to all children who have created an eco decoration for our tree. They all look fantastic. Please come and have a look in the library. Thank you also to those who entered the plate or wreath competition - come back soon for the winners!
Mrs Leggett organised a visit to the Fanzone at Gloucester Docks, for six local primary schools and around 180 children. Y4 and Y5 spent the day there. In the morning, we tried all the activities in the Fanzone and in the afternoon we watched Scotland play Japan on the Big Screen from the grandstand. What a day!
This week Karen Wones from Mint Mosaics was in school working with children, staff and parents to begin our Tree of Life. It has been a wonderful few days seeing the mosaic image come to life. Karen is back next week on Wednesday and Thursday to continue the project with the aim of finishing on Thursday. Every child and member of staff in the school will have conributed to this whole school project.
Rose was the designer of the next playground mural which lots of children helped create. It will be displayed on the wall by Rabbit's class over the holiday.
We had lots of fabulous entries. There are group photographs of the year group entries. The individual photographs are the winning entries. They all won a chocolate Easter bunny. Well done!
We gathered together to experience the Solar Eclipse. We learnt about it in the hall, looking at photos from the news. We then headed outside to experience the dark and dip in temperature. It was very cloudly!
For Red Nose Day children made a donation to dress in red or in their pyjamas. School Council also held a cake sale after school. Watch this space for how much money we raised!
Congratulations to Mrs Baynes, Eco Committee and all of the children for achieving the Green Flag status. We had a ceremony to raise the flag. All of the past Eco Committee members stood next to the flag pole and the flag was raised by the oldest and youngest members.
We had a brilliant time celebrating World Book Day on 5th March 2015. Children and adults were invited to dress up as a character from their favourite book. There were lots of different costumes. Children also enjoyed learning about books and reading in their classrooms.
The children had a brilliant time rotating around school on a 'European Experience'! Children were together in groups from Reception to Year 6, experiencing 9 different countries in 3 days. They visited France, Italy, Switzerland, Portugal, The Netherlands, Iceland, Poland, Greece or Spain, Wales or Austria. The activities ranged from ballet, cooking, art and even yodeling! The children had a fantastic time and were excited to talk about their learning and activities in each country.
78 children took part in the Toy Swap and Book Swap on Thurs 5th February. More details on the Eco page.
This week we began painting our next mural designed by Rose in Hedgehogs. She painted the first brush stroke. The design incorporates all the animals our classes are named after. Owls, Hedgehogs,Squirrels and Rabbits.
We have been awarded the Eco Green Flag and will hopefully have a flag pole soon to fly the flag outside school. Well done to all the Eco Committees over the last four years who have made us such a successful Eco School!
