We are a class of year 5 and year 6 children.
Our teacher is Mrs Halling and our Teaching Assistant is Mrs Walder.
Mrs Leggett takes us for P.E.
Our topic this term is Extreme Earth. We will be finding out about extreme weather and its affects around the world. If you have any books at home that your child could bring in that would be fantastic.
Our topic for the Autumn term is the Anglo-Saxons and Vikings. We are currently finding out all sorts of facts about how they lived and how they influenced the way we live today!
English and Maths homework are set on Wednesday to be handed in by the following Monday. Sometimes the children will also have topic or science homework set on a Monday to be handed in on Friday.
Please note, spellings are now on a Wednesday, not Tuesday.
On Friday 1st December, Owls walked up the Herefordshire Beacon and found Clutter's cave.
The Year 6s took park in the Tewkesbury Leavers Service in the Abbey on Thursday 14th July. They performed really well and were a credit to the school. Well done year 6s.
When we went to the Medieval Schools Day, we fought against the re-enactors!
Owls class took part in the 2016 Medieval Festival Schools Day which was great fun. We even had a mock battle against the re-enactors!
Some of the children in Owls class took part in the Medieval Festival parade on Sunday 10th July. We paraded with the willow models we have been making in school - Ed the Knight and Ned the Horse. We were also joined by Boris the bear, who we made last year! There are also photos of us making the models, which was great fun!
The Rounders team came second in the District Small Schools rounders tournament. Well done to those children in Owls class who were on the team. We are very proud of you!
A team of Year 5 and 6 children took part in the Inter School Indoor Athletics competition at Tewkesbury School. We had a great time...and we won!
We took part in the inter-schools Tag Rugby tournament on 19th April. Between 40 and 50 teams took part. We played really well, and were very proud to win the Fairplay Award! We came 4th in our group.

OWLS class enjoyed a day of designing, problem-solving and creating motorised fairground rides. They used computer skills to control the rides, with added music and lights.
Year 6 had a French Breakfast on the 19th January. We had le chocolat chaud in a bowl, un croissant, un pain au chocolat, une tartine, de la confiture, du beurre, du jus d'orange et une brioche. Owls class took part in the annual K'NEX Challenge. Their brief was to design and create a bridge that lifted or raised in some way to allow tall ships to pass underneath. The Children worked in teams. Well done to everybody, and thank you to Mrs Follis and the GE Aviation apprentices for leading and judging the competition. The winners were Toby and Piers who go through to the next round. Good luck boys!

On 10th July Owls took part in the Children's Battle as part of the Medieval Festival. We had a fantastic day, all be it a bit hot but at least we weren't in full armour like the re-enactors!
The Owls have been learning about volcanoes and the Earth. Year 5 have made 3D models of Earth using Playdoh. Freya and Neve made a volcano in their spare time, and the class watched it erupt!
The Year 5 Owls have visited Skillzone in Gloucester, where they experienced hands-on activities to help them learn about their personal safety.
The Year 5s have been to Tewkesbury School for a "taster day". They participated in a variety of lessons - PE, Science, Spanish and PSHCE. Here are some of our photos.
